Denise Milani Too Big

Friends of Children Awards

currently generate huge debates about whether it is appropriate or not for the education of our young corporal punishment (a whip or cheek when he misbehaves). The issue has not only made rivers of ink or even legislate with the intent to delete , but also has made the scientific community intesese it. And it a recent study prepared by the University of New Hampshire says that children receive some form of physical punishment are IQ lower than those who do not suffer.

.

To reach their conclusions, researchers studied a sample of over 800 children between 2 and 4 years and another group of 700 children between 5 and 9. Both groups underwent a new evaluation four years later.
The children in group A that had not been attached was 5 points above the intellectual level of children who were spanked. In group B, the IQ was 2.8 points higher than the same age group to which they had been beaten in the family. Straus and his team also evaluated data on corporal punishment, which had more than 17,000 college students as children and found that there was a stronger link between corporal punishment and intellectual when the boys were whipped through adolescence.

American children who were beaten had lower cognitive ability four years later.
According to the researchers, corporal punishment is very stressful and can become a chronic factor for children who suffer corporal punishment three or more times a week, and the relationship arising from corporal punishment to a child intellectual capacity.

The consequences of such punishment may manifest years later, as shown symptoms of post-traumatic stress.
